Virtual Private Networking (VPN)

Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a secure connection, or tunnel, to the CMU network over the internet. A VPN connection will allow you to:

access on-campus resources from off-campus, including campus printers, library resources and network shared drives
transfer data securely from off-campus
work securely over public Wi-Fi
access a service on a restricted subnet

AnyConnect to Become Secure Client

Cisco is updating the name of its VPN application from AnyConnect to Secure Client. Computing Services intends to release this update in the coming weeks.

When we do, the application will update automatically the next time you connect. After the update, desktop shortcuts and other shortcuts to the application may disappear.
