CMU PD Annual Holiday Toy Drive

Nov. 25 to Dec. 9, All Day, Various Locations

The season of giving is here! Join the CMU Police Department in spreading holiday cheer to children in the Hazelwood-Pittsburgh area.

We’re collecting new, unwrapped toys for kids of all ages to make their holiday season a little brighter. Drop off donations at the following locations through Monday, Dec. 9:

  • CMU PD station, 4551 Filmore Street
  • Cohon University Center
  • Hunt Library
  • Mellon Institute
  • Tepper School of Business
  • Warner Hall

Every donation makes a difference. Together, we can bring joy and smiles to the children in our community!

Almost Midnight Breakfast

Tuesday, Dec. 10, 8 to 11 p.m., Rangos Ballroom, CUC

Join the Fraternity & Sorority Life community as they host Almost Midnight Breakfast!

CMU staff and faculty cook omelets and serve students breakfast during finals week. In addition to fresh-cooked omelets, breakfast includes hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, and french toast sticks.

This event is free and is held on the Tuesday night prior to Reading Day. All undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to attend.

SDeStress: Holiday Edition

Wednesday, Dec. 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., SDS Conference Room, Porter Hall 223D

Join your fellow SDS friends and advisors to melt your stress away as you get ready for finals. There will be:

  • Comfort food, including mac and cheese!
  • A hot chocolate bar
  • Goodie bags with snacks for finals
  • Gratitude card decorating supplies
  • Puzzles and a candy "guess how many" jar
  • DOGS to cuddle!

Meet Me @, IDeATe Fall 2024 Exhibition

Meet Me @ is a semesterly exhibition of the imaginative and innovative projects and research devised and developed at IDeATe.

For fall 2024 you can expect game play, a mending workshop, shadow play animations, textiles and more. It is an all-around engaging afternoon at the creative intersection of art and technology.

We encourage all students, faculty and staff to attend.

OURSD Study Abroad Info Session

Join the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholar Develoment (OURSD) for a session about two unique summer study abroad opportunities for undergraduate students!

We will discuss the Jennings Brave Family Companions Fund and the Fulbright UK Sumer Institutes, opportunities especially targeted to students with financial need who have had little to no opportunity to travel outside the U.S.

Invisible Fight: Chronic Illness Support Group

Tuesdays, 4 to 5 p.m., Virtual

Living with a chronic illness/medical condition can be an isolating experience. This support group is an opportunity for students who experience chronic conditions (i.e. asthma, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cancer and others) to gather in community for support and validation. It is a space to explore the challenges of navigating various aspects of our world (health care systems, academic environments, personal lives, etc.) while also caring for the self.

Black Women's Support Group

Fridays, 4 to 5:15 p.m., virtual

A supportive virtual space for students who identify as Black women, facilitated by Black female therapists. 

This weekly, unstructured group provides an opportunity to discuss stress and coping, misogynoir, oppression and privilege, intersectional identities, self-esteem, relationships, colorism, family, internalized racism and other topics of interest. Everyone's agreement to maintaining the confidentiality of other members is essential!

CMU Pantry Hours

CMU Pantry, Residence on Fifth, 4700 Fifth Avenue, First Floor

The CMU Pantry is a free resource that combats food insecurity by providing food assistance to Carnegie Mellon University students and their dependents. All current CMU students are eligible to shop at the Pantry. Shoppers are asked to reserve times for their visits to prevent overcrowding. Please visit the Pantry's website to learn more about the Pantry, including how to reserve a shopping time.
